DeKalb Landfill Project

Nacelle contracted with Conyers Renewable Power to provide operations and maintenance support at the DeKalb County landfill. Nacelle manages day-to-day operations of the 3.2 MW power generation plant (powered by two Caterpillar 3520C power generation units) where electricity is sold to Georgia Power. Nacelle is responsible for reporting and compliance related to the landfill’s Title V and NSPS requirements. Nacelle’s on-site personnel coordinate wellfield management (GCCS) with the landfill operator to maximize plant uptime and performance.

DeKalb County landfill, located southeast of Atlanta, GA, is creating energy from garbage, and through its sales to Georgia Power, the operation generates revenue, heats homes and reduces greenhouse gases.
